A Partnership From the Start
We Meet You Where You Are
Most people who contact us have been dreaming about their log home for years. By the time you reach out, you've likely chosen land, established a rough timeline, and developed some ideas about what you want. We meet you wherever you are in that process.
Our first questions focus on your timeline and whether you own property. These conversations help us understand what support you'll need—whether that's guiding you through permitting, coordinating utilities, or managing site preparation from raw land to build-ready.
We Help You Navigate the Permitting Process
Permitting varies significantly by county. Some require no permits at all; others involve state-level approvals that can feel overwhelming if you're unfamiliar with construction regulations. We guide you through zoning questions, septic permits (coordinating with soil scientists and designers), and power company meetings to determine how electrical service reaches your property. This process should start four to six months before construction begins to prevent delays once building starts.
Planning for Utilities
One area homebuyers often overlook: planning for where utilities will run onto your property. Our guidance helps set your project up for success from the beginning. We’ll help you think through power lines, water connections, and service routing early. This ensures site prep runs on time, makes efficient use of your land, and reduces the need for costly utilities rerouting after construction has begun.
What We Need from You
What we need from you during this phase: your time, clear communication, and willingness to collaborate. This relationship begins when you share your vision with us and continues through to the moment we hand you your keys.

Amish-Quality Construction that Keeps You in Mind
Timeline Overview
A typical build runs six to eight months from foundation to move-in, though this can extend depending on your home's size and distance from our base in Sugarcreek, Ohio.
Foundation Through Weather-Tight
- Once your site is prepared, we start with inspections and permits.
- Excavation follows. This includes digging the foundation, developing the driveway (if that's in your contract), clearing trees and stumps, and preparing a clean workspace.
- Foundation work comes next—block and concrete installation, subfloor for the first floor, basement plumbing, concrete pour, and backfill.
- The next major milestone is reaching weather-tight: log shell complete, roof on, windows and doors installed. Builders precisely place and seal logs to protect your investment from the elements and allow interior work to proceed without weather delays.
Interior Finishing and Site Management
Once weather-tight, we move into interior finishing: walls, plumbing lines, electrical wiring, appliances, and fixtures. Our experienced crew handles carpentry and framing work and cleans up as work progresses.
Communication and Move-In Prep
Our communication approach isn't about status updates for the sake of updates. We build a relationship during planning that carries through construction, so you feel confident even when you're not on-site.
You're welcome to visit your build site anytime. It's your land, your home taking shape. If problems arise, we reach out promptly, discuss the issue, listen to your concerns, and collaborate on a solution.
After completion, we do a final walkthrough to adjust doors and address last-minute details. Before you move in, we clean your home using wall and floor mops and soaps that remove debris without damaging the timbers.
